Iowa Politics "Cookies and Conversation"

Dear friends and colleagues of the IowaPolitics.com "Cookies and Conversation" programs.
You're invited to attend our next program on Monday, December 8th in Des Moines.
The program will feature Iowa's legislative leaders and will be held from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. It will be located at the Iowa Historical Building, third floor, Classroom A & B. (Doors open at 2 p.m.)

Free parking will be available in a ramp located directly North of the Historical Building on Grand Avenue.

Iowa Legislative Leaders to discuss 2009 session at the next
IowaPolitics.com forum
(Des Moines, IA.) – Iowa legislative leaders will discuss the upcoming 2009 session at the next IowaPolitics.com forum at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, at the State Historical Building in Des Moines.
Confirmed panelists include:
--House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, D-Des Moines, who is serving his fourth term in Iowa House District 67 and is an attorney in private practice with the Wandro and Baer law firm.
--Senate Majority Leader Mike Gronstal, D-Council Bluffs, who was first elected in 1982. He served one term in the House and is starting his seventh term in the Senate. He has been leader of Senate Democrats since 1997 and has previously served as Senate president, assistant majority leader and majority whip.
Republicans in the House and Senate also promised to have a leader from each of their caucuses at the forum, although leadership changes prevented them from confirming just yet.
IowaPolitics.com Des Moines Bureau Chief Lynn Campbell will moderate the program and questions will be accepted from audience members. The event later will be broadcast on the Mediacom Connections channel statewide and will be available for On Demand viewing on Mediacom Channel 1.
The forum is part of the "Cookies and Conversation" series and sponsored by IowaPolitics.com, Mediacom and Des Moines Area Community College. It will be held in classrooms A & B on the third floor of the State Historical Building, 600 E. Locust St. Doors open at 2 p.m. and taping of the show will be from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Parking is available on the street, or in the ramp located directly north of the building.
